Job Summary:

As the Certified Flagger, you will ultimately be responsible for maintaining safe traffic control operations, protecting construction crews and the public, and ensuring compliance with traffic control standards. You will support underground utility construction activities by directing traffic, coordinating with field crews, and delivering safe and efficient work zone operations. As the Certified Flagger, your customers are construction crews, project managers, clients, and the traveling public, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company's success through safety, communication, and dependable field support.

Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

  • Maintain current ATSSA Flagger Certification and perform flagging duties in accordance with applicable traffic control standards
  • Direct and control vehicle and pedestrian traffic through active construction work zones
  • Ensure the safety of construction crews, the public, and fellow employees at all times
  • Stand for extended periods while performing traffic control duties
  • Work safely in varying weather and environmental conditions
  • Understand and follow established flagging operations and traffic control procedures
  • Communicate effectively with construction crews and the public to maintain safe work zone operations
  • Support underground utility construction activities as needed
  • Work collaboratively with team members to promote a safe and productive work environment
  • Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs

Required Qualifications:

Education, Licensing, and Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Valid ATSSA Flagger Certification required
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • DOT Medical Card required prior to operating a company vehicle

Experience

  • Previous experience performing traffic control or flagging operations preferred
  • Experience supporting construction or utility projects preferred
