Job description

ICC Special Inspector — Certified Pros Who Want the Hours

Reno, NV | Full-Time, Hourly (Non-Exempt) | $34/hour base + OT at time-and-a-half | 4 openings

The Opportunity

This is not a beginner posting. Our client — a well-established, Reno-based consulting engineering firm providing special inspection and construction materials testing across Northern Nevada — is hiring four ICC-certified Special Inspectors who already hold their Reinforced Concrete cert, know their way around an active site, and want the hours. With 5–6 day weeks and mandatory overtime at time-and-a-half, your take-home climbs fast — and every additional cert you earn raises your base rate.

The Money Talks

  • $40/hour base, non-exempt, with OT at 1.5x over 40 — and OT is guaranteed
  • Certification raises stack: ICC Soils +$2/hr · Structural Steel & Bolting +$2/hr · Masonry +$2/hr · Structural Welding +$3/hr
  • They pay for your growth: Reimbursements and bonuses for continued professional certifications

What You'll Do

  • Perform special inspections and construction materials testing for code compliance
  • Write clear, accurate daily field reports
  • Sample and transport construction materials
  • Coordinate on job sites and communicate directly with clients and contractors

What You'll Bring

  • ICC Special Inspector certification — Reinforced Concrete (required)
  • 2+ years of inspection experience working under your ICC certs
  • Ability to work outdoors in all conditions on active sites
  • Availability for night pours and weekends as projects require
  • Team-player attitude, strong communication, and rock-solid reliability
  • A plus: ICC Soils certification

Schedule reality check: 5–6 days per week with mandatory overtime. This role is built for inspectors who want maximum hours and maximum paychecks.

Certified? Hungry for hours? Let's talk. Apply now.
