This position is located at Centralia Equipment & Machine, Inc. in Centralia, IL. We are seeking hard working, motivated individuals. If you are interested in pursuing a career with great potential, we want you!

Centralia Equipment & Machine Inc., an independent subsidiary of ACNR, Inc. (the largest independent U.S. coal producer), is seeking motivated individuals that can demonstrate their ability to work safely to produce quality and production, in that order.

Pay Type: Hourly

Pay Range: $30.00-$33.00/hour

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Machining technology
  • Visually inspect work area for potential hazards
  • Ensure that body mechanics, equipment, and tools are utilized in a safe and responsible manner
  • Safely, effectively, and efficiently work and respond to changing conditions
  • Must comply with company, mine and regulatory policies and approved procedures
  • Troubleshoot and solving problems
  • Determine the type and extent of repair work needed on various types of equipment
  • Determine seriousness of problems and estimates time to make repairs.
  • Interpret maintenance manuals parts booklets, work orders, blueprints, schematics and hydraulic/mechanical prints
  • Maintain/repair equipment
  • Knowledge of basic shop and hand tools
  • Weld as necessary
  • Good working knowledge of tools
  • Perform work area housekeeping duties
  • Determine if work areas are safe
  • Other duties as necessary
  • Machine medium / big mining equipment
  • Ability to rig and handle equipment safely with overhead cranes.
  • Ability to setup and machine new parts from solid stock and repair parts.
  • Ability to follow work instructions, quality standards, and read drawings. Completing all required work described on the work instruction and machining to drawing specifications.
  • Ability to understand G Code and edit as required.
  • Ability to perform programming when required.
  • Ability to run Horizontal boring mills, Vertical mill and well as manual or CNC.
  • Ability to operate both manual and CNC vertical turning lathes.
  • Ability to use micrometers, indicators, and small hand tools.
  • Good communication skills.

Experience

  • Must have two (2) years machinist experience
  • Successfully demonstrate mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with basic styles of measuring instrument
  • CNC programming 1-2 years
  • Ability to operate cranes and fork trucks of various sizes
  • Vocational training or degree / Journeyman Machinist
  • Programming training or degree
  • Experience with various machine controls.
  • Experience with G code and Conversational programming
  • Experience with programming at the machine
  • Experience machining repaired parts and set up of large parts.
  • Experience with Mastercam CadCam system.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Valid Electrical card (current)
  • Must be quick learner and ability to adapt quickly to change
  • Reliable transportation
  • Regular and punctual attendance
  • Thorough knowledge of machining technology
  • Must be able to successfully complete industry approved training courses
  • Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently
  • Must meet all Federal, State and Local requirements
  • Must be able to successfully pass a post offer drug test and background check
  • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship

Job Schedule and Physical Demands

  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as schedule requires (subject to applicant’s religious practices)
  • Must be able to work any shift (subject to the applicant’s religious practices)
  • Ability to lift floor-to-waist and waist-to-overhead
  • Ability to push/pull as needed
