We're seeking a Mainframe Computer Operator to join a critical enterprise operations team on an overnight shift. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity, and the hiring manager's goal is to bring the right person on permanently within 6-12 months.

This role is ideal for someone with mainframe experience who is looking for long-term career growth. Successful candidates will have opportunities to move into additional shifts, leadership responsibilities, and future management roles.

What You'll Do:

• Monitor and support enterprise mainframe environments
• Execute and oversee daily batch processing activities
• Review and manage workload scheduling updates
• Monitor systems using enterprise monitoring tools
• Troubleshoot operational issues and escalate when necessary
• Document activities and communicate shift updates to stakeholders

Required Experience (open to applicants who may be light in certain areas)

• 2+ years of professional experience in Mainframe Operations
• 2+ years of experience with enterprise monitoring tools such as Splunk or SolarWinds
• 2+ years of experience with enterprise workload scheduling tools including:
• IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS/TWS)
• AutoSys
• BMC Scheduling Solutions
• Basic command-line experience with MVS and JES2
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Shift Schedule:

First 90 Days

• Onsite
• 4 nights on / 4 nights off
• 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Includes a 2-hour lunch break

After Initial Training

• Rotating overnight schedule
• Typical hours: 7:00 PM - 4:00 AM
• Example: Work Monday-Tuesday, off Wednesday-Thursday, work Friday-Sunday
• Consistent 40-hour work week
