Job description

job Summary: be responsible for the internal and external inspections and repair of fiberglass and composite blades, nosecone, and nacelles from all categories. The technicians will be required to document the findings and assemble all associated paperwork as required to be posted for further action.

You may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive Itinergyโ€™s vision and align with our organizationโ€™s values.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and photograph internal and external blade damage, document findings, and assemble all associated paperwork as required to be posted for further action by Engineering or Quality
  • Perform structural damages (Category 5) composite repairs on internal and external blade surfaces, leading and trailing edge repair while following guidelines provided by Engineering with locations both uptower and downtower
  • Help in all areas of site preparation (i.e. coordination of labor and materials) with minimal supervision
  • Document all work performed using computer- based service reporting procedures.
  • Communicate site status to engineering, customers, and management
  • Provide maintenance support and preform large component replacement of wind turbine generators
  • Provide wind turbine generator LOTO (Lock Out & Tag Out) support
  • Travel will be required 100%
  • Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments
  • Ability and willingness to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a valid driverโ€™s license

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of composite repair experience or minimum 2-4 years AND Graduate of a wind Tech/and or Composite Program. Or show a composite Repair Portfolio
  • Suspended Platform Rigging/De-Rigging
  • Osha 10
  • First aid/CPR Cert
  • Gwo if possible

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability to read and understand Work Instructions
  • Can fill out repair report and document correctly
  • Ensure all safety documentations are submitted through GoFormz
  • Ability and willingness to take initiative and work without direct supervision.

Physical Requirements

  • Successful COMPLETION of the climb test and tower rescue training.
  • Candidates MUST be able to climb a 300 feet wind tower, walk across hub and in the event of an emergency repel off.
  • Must be comfortable working at heights of up to 300+ feet.
  • Must have the ability to meet specific weight requirements of ladders under OSHA standards between 250 to 300 lbs. max, including personal protective equipment (approx. 40-50lbs).
  • Must be comfortable working in confined space(s).
  • Frequent Climbing (10% of work time allocated/ 4x a day)
  • Frequent Walking (35% of work time allocated)
  • Frequent Standing (35% of work time allocated)
  • Occasional Bending, Kneeling, and Squatting (2.5%-5% of work time allocated)
  • Ability and willingness to handle repetitive weight of 50 lbs
