Coding Coordinator

About us

Physicians East, P.A.is a team of skilled healthcare professionals united to meet the challenge of delivering quality, cost-efficient, comprehensive healthcare to the people of Eastern North Carolina.


About the role

We are looking for an employee that can be responsible for the daily operational support of the coding department. Activities may vary, but will include items such as coordination of interdepartmental communication, coordination of intradepartmental workflow tasks and items, management of provider communication and related activities.


Supervision Received: Reports to Regulatory Services Supervisor.


Supervision Exercised: None.


Typical Physical Demands: Requires prolonged standing or sitting while working in an office environment. Requires some bending or stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment.


Typical Working Conditions:

Normal office environment.


Responsibilities

  • Compile, distribute daily coding status reports and production statics weekly
  • Assist in the completion of non-coding reports and tasks
  • Work departmental reports to identify any misdirected, unassigned, or uncoded encounters
  • Create, Coordinate, and distribute coding departmental communication as needed
  • Manage administrative tasks as provided by departmental leadership
  • Maintains patient confidentiality
  • Performs related work as required or needed


Location & commitments

Full-time remote role headquartered at our Greenville Arlington Blvd. location, Monday-Friday, hours to be determined.

Overtime may be required to ensure departmental needs are met.


Candidate requirements

General healthcare or related experience. General knowledge of medical coding, insurance, and billing. Five years of Front desk coordinator or similar experience in a healthcare environment.

Organization and good communication required. Use of .MS Office will be required. Education: High School Diploma, Additional education considered in lieu of experience.
