HIRING: CNC Swiss Operator (Will train into machinist)

$20-30/hr based on experience

Overnights and Weekend shifts available:

2nd/3rd shift night (5:30 pm–5:00 am, Monday–Thursday), weekend night (5:30 pm–5:00 am, Friday–Monday), and weekend day (6:00 am–5:30 pm, Friday–Monday)

Job Description

This role focuses on operating multiple CNC Swiss machines in a high-precision, metals-based medical manufacturing environment. You will contribute directly to the production of critical components used in medical devices and surgical applications, ensuring consistent quality, adherence to safety standards, and efficient machine operation within a collaborative, team-based setting.

Responsibilities

  • Operate multiple CNC machines, with a primary focus on CNC Swiss equipment, in a fast-paced, team-based production environment.
  • Perform general and daily maintenance on assigned machines to support continuous and reliable production.
  • Monitor and ensure the quality of parts through regular in-process inspections during production runs.
  • Follow all established safety guidelines and procedures at all times while working on the production floor.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and basic geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to manufacture parts to specification.
  • Inspect parts using visual and manual inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools.
  • Utilize programmed Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment for inspection; training will be provided as needed.
  • Make machine offsets and change tooling according to provided layouts and process documentation; training will be provided for these tasks.
  • Document machining activities and production results accurately to maintain traceability and compliance with quality standards.
  • Communicate clearly with fellow team members and leadership regarding job status, part quality, and any issues affecting production.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.

Essential Skills

  • 2–3 years of experience operating CNC machines in a production environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints.
  • Experience documenting machining processes and production results.
  • Ability to perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, and similar inspection tools.
  • Understanding of basic machining practices and CNC operation.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English to follow work instructions, safety guidelines, and documentation requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Swiss CNC machinery such as Citizen, Tornos, SR-20RN, and SR-20RV.
  • Ability to interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Familiarity with CMM inspection equipment; training will be provided if needed.
  • Comfort working with multiple CNC machines in a high-precision manufacturing department.
  • Interest in medical device manufacturing and producing components for surgical and robotic applications.

Work Environment

You will work with advanced CNC and Swiss machining technologies and inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and CMM systems.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
