MAINTENANCE MECHANIC (MILLWRIGHT) - OAKVILLE

CGC Inc. is a leading marketer, manufacturer and distributor of gypsum wallboard products, interior finishing material and suspended acoustical ceilings. With locations around the world, CGC and USG have the resources, plants, products and people to build walls, ceilings and careers.

CGC Inc. is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright) for our ceilings plant, based in Oakville, Ontario.

It's a permanent and full-time position, offering a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual to demonstrate their skills and abilities in a manufacturing operation within a large corporation.

Under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright) conducts the daily operations of the Maintenance department.

Additional responsibilities of the Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright) include:

  • Troubleshooting of various mechanical equipment

  • Assist with corrective action and required repairs.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematic and drawings to determine work procedures.

  • Conduct planned preventive & predictive maintenance and keep maintenance records.

  • Cooperate and work in a team environment while maintaining consistent attendance.

  • Exercise personal safety, as well as promote and enforce safety among crew members.

  • Develop and maintain good employee morale and working relationships within the department and with other departments at the plant.

Qualifications:

  • Industrial Millwright/Mechanic certification is REQUIRED.

  • Knowledge of presses, mills, CNC machines and packaging equipment is an asset.

  • Working knowledge of safety standards and procedures in an industrial environment.

  • Proficient mechanical understanding.

  • General welding and fabrication knowledge.

  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.

  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills.

  • Highly motivated, results orientated team player.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors will be required.

  • Ability to work weekends as required.
