Job description

JOB TITLE: Composites Paint and Finish Technician - Direct Hire
LOCATION: Greenville, SC
PAY RATE: $30-35/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Work in both a dedicated paint booth and on the manufacturing floor to apply high-performance finishes to composite components.

  • Requires PPE use, precision, and collaboration to meet production goals.

  • Reports to the Composites Supervisor.

  • Prep, sand, fair, and clean composite parts

  • Apply primers, paints, topcoats, and stencils to spec

  • Mix and catalyze paints/resins accurately

  • Blend colors and apply finishes to proper thickness

  • Interpret SDS, MIL-specs, and customer drawings

  • Perform masking, color-matching, and touch-ups

  • Follow MIPs, work orders, and engineering drawings

  • Maintain 5S, safety, and complete documentation

  • Occasionally assist with crating/packaging

  • Exposure to noise, sanding debris, and chemicals

Requirements:

  • High school diploma

  • Basic math, mechanical skills, and tool knowledge

  • Able to pass respiratory physical (for full-face PPE)

  • Strong character and team-first mindset

  • Positive, driven attitude; eager to learn and train others

  • Familiarity with 5S, AS9100, OSHA, EPA standards

  • QMS experience and process improvement mindset

  • Willingness to support lamination tasks

  • Leadership ability, even without direct reports

  • Lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks

  • 1st shift schedule

  • Possible overtime/weekends to meet deadlines

  • Must follow all safety and ergonomic practices

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

Preferred Skills:

  • 2-year technical certificate (aerospace or automotive finishing)

  • Experience with camouflage patterns and stencil design

  • Familiarity with Instron testing equipment (bonus)
