Job description

The Irvine South campus is seeking a dedicated individual with a passion for elevating worship experiences through innovative audio and video solutions. This role involves leveraging technical skills to enrich worship services, ensuring a fresh and engaging encounter with Jesus. The Campus Tech Director will also focus on recruiting and developing volunteers, helping them to serve in ways that align with their unique gifts and talents.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Services/Events/Equipment Operation:
โ€ข Operate and maintain all audio-video-lighting systems within the regional campus. Weekend hours are required as engineer for weekend services. This is achieved with direct contract with the campus pastor and worship leaders to better understand the needs for the service.
โ€ข Organize all campus staging and technical items so that any ministry in need of technical service can have quality assistance and response.
โ€ข Regularly meet with the Worship Director/Leader and specific ministry leaders to brainstorm and strategize the best look and feel of weekend services and other ministry events.
โ€ข Participate in weekly staff meeting and ongoing planning for Technical Arts needs for weekly services, ministries, and events.
โ€ข Organize/Operate Technical Arts equipment needs for large special events such as: Easter/Christmas, Nativity/Easter Illumination Events, Night of Worship, Small Group Host Rally, Vision Nights, Outdoor Concerts, etc.
Volunteers/Culture:
โ€ข Recruit, shepherd, and appreciate volunteers for multiple ministries. Train and empower them on how to best use equipment at the campus. Ministries include CR, Men's, Women's, and Students.
โ€ข Create an atmosphere of excellence with organized, energized and creative training to draw people into ministry.
โ€ข Join in with the pastoral staff in providing general body-life care each weekend (greet guests, work the patio, etc.)
โ€ข Coordinate and build relationships with Central Production and Central Worship staff.
Administrative:
โ€ข Planning /ordering /arranging Technical Arts related equipment rentals for special events. 10%
โ€ข Organize and receive technical needs from ministry leaders
โ€ข Oversee scheduling of volunteers and contracted Technical Arts related technicians.
WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
โ€ข Minimum of 3 years' experience running large format sound consoles, preferably in a church setting. Basic knowledge of lighting and video systems.
โ€ข A Bachelor's degree is preferred
โ€ข Must have the ability to interact well with pastors and church leaders and to determine what is needed to turn their creative ideas into technical reality.
โ€ข Must be organized and effective in communication with volunteers and church staff.
โ€ข Must be able to recruit, train, build, and empower volunteer teams, and provide ongoing care and relationships with those involved within various ministries.
โ€ข Ability to work weekend hours with some potential heavy lifting.
Saddleback Church's pay philosophy is based on internal and external data for pay equity, along with budgetary considerations for effective stewardship. Pay will be provided at $31.25-$33.65 per hour. We will provide a pay rate that is within our salary structure and that fits a candidate's qualifications and experience for the job.
