Once Upon a Childcare is looking for an experienced Childcare Floater to join our team. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with all age groups. Our hours of operation are from 7:00 to 5:30, Monday through Friday. 
Benefits:
  • All Employees will accrue Personal Time and PTO hours do not expire and can roll over to the following year.
  • Sick Pay will accrue for a maximum of 48 hours, be applied to each employee's policy, and be paid out for absences due to illness each calendar year. Sick pay hours do not expire and can roll over to the following year.
  • Paid Holidays 
  • Birthday off with pay  
  • We will help you obtain your CDA (Child Development Associate) 
Responsibilities:
  • While covering for the teacher, you will be implementing the lesson plan. Not responsible for creating your own. 
  • Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children
  • Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
  • Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
  • Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, art, etc...).
  • Track children's progress and report to parents (Tadpole's app) 
  • Collaborate with other educators.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working in a licensed childcare facility
  • Child development courses through an accredited college and/or EQIT/Pyramid Plus courses and/or a Level 2 or higher in the PDIS credential system
  • Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
  • Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
  • Excellent communication and instructional skills
  • Ability to act as a mediator between children
  • Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable
  • Certification in child CPR or willingness to obtain
