Job Summary
We're looking for a Shell Production Operator to support the production of high-quality ceramic investment casting molds by performing dewaxing, burnout, mold preparation, and furnace operations. This role is responsible for safely preparing molds for downstream foundry processes while maintaining quality, productivity, and safety standards.

Shift: 1st shift, Monday-Friday 6:00a-2:00p
What You'll Be Doing
  • Remove molds from drying areas and prepare them for dewaxing operations.
  • Use hand-held pneumatic tools to remove mold bleeders and prepare molds for processing.
  • Load and unload molds from steam autoclaves and burnout furnaces.
  • Operate autoclave and furnace cycles according to engineering instructions and standard work procedures.
  • Transport molds between production areas and accurately record mold weights.
  • Complete production, safety, and quality documentation.
  • Inspect personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper usage at all times.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or safety issues to supervision.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S and plant standards.

What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Manufacturing, foundry, industrial, or production experience preferred.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and understanding work instructions.
  • Ability to read and follow safety procedures, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Basic math skills and ability to accurately record production data and weights.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to safely operate industrial tools and production equipment.
  • Strong safety awareness and ability to work in high-temperature manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain dependable attendance.
  • Willingness to work overtime and obtain forklift certification if required.

Nice to Have
  • Foundry, shell room, ceramic mold, furnace, or aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • Experience operating autoclaves, furnaces, or industrial processing equipment.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Familiarity with 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or continuous improvement practices.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to elevated temperatures, humidity, fumes, airborne particles, and industrial equipment.
  • Regular standing, walking, reaching, and handling molds and materials throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment required.
  • Required to wear appropriate PPE, including hearing protection, bump caps, safety glasses, and other assigned safety equipment.

This position may require work hours outside of the regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs. This may include work during evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Additional work hours are assigned based on business requirements. Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions.
