Job Description:

CAD drafters are responsible for transforming construction document designs using cad programs to develop accurate models and working drawings for design approval, shop fabrication, and field erection.

Duties:

· review and analyze project drawings and specifications

· develop 3d cad models based on project data

· generate accurate working drawings for design approval, shop fabrication, and field erection

· provide timely technichal assistance to the project team

· excercise good judgment in interpreting construction documents based on design intent

· understand and implement best practice procedures into plans

· communicate design conflicts in written form

· know and implement local and international safety codes (ada, ibc, tas, aisc, osha)

· visit construction sites to pull field dimensions and record as built conditions

· identify potential scope conflicts, convey conflicts effectively, and develop solutions

· review generated plans for completeness and accuracy

· organize, plan, and prioritize work

· maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and research

Requirements:

· direct experience proficiency with autocad inventor

· minimum 2 years of cad experience

· associates degree, certificate in drafting or equivalent experience

· working understanding of metal materials / fabrication processes

· experience with architectural detailing is a plus

· proficient in math calculations (arithmatic, geometry, and trigonometry)

· able to read and understand construction documents

· computer literatate with intermediate knowledge of ms office products

· good organizational and communication skills
