Job Summary:

The Part-Time Computer Assisted Drafting (CAD) Instructor at Red Rocks Community College provides high-quality instruction in developmental and transfer-level CAD courses while fostering student success in a diverse and inclusive learning environment. This position develops and delivers engaging curriculum across face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities, using instructional technology and innovative teaching strategies to promote critical thinking, retention, and academic achievement.


The instructor assesses student learning, provides timely feedback, and collaborates with faculty to enhance curriculum and ensure alignment with program outcomes and college standards. Responsibilities include integrating current industry software and emerging technologies into instruction, adapting teaching methods to meet varied learning needs, and maintaining compliance with college policies and approved curriculum.


The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills; proficiency with learning management systems and instructional technology; and a commitment to equity, inclusion, and serving students from diverse backgrounds. This role requires flexibility to teach a variety of course formats, schedules, and locations while supporting the mission, values, and student-centered philosophy of Red Rocks Community College and the Colorado Community College System.


This posting will be used to fill multiple part-time Instructor vacancies. Finalists must be willing to make Colorado their primary workplace, including online courses in accordance with CCCS employment requirements. This position may work up to 28 hours per week, depending on budget and need.

Compensation is based on credit hour/contact hour ratios and ranges from $1,710.36 to $1,881.40 per credit hour.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Computer Aided Drafting from an accredited institution.

AND

CTE Requirement: Has, or qualifies for, postsecondary CTE credential including 4000 non-teaching occupational hours within the last 7 years (2000 hours if at bachelor's or higher)
Physical & Cognitive Demands: The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position:
• Occasionally moves, positions, and transports files and office materials weighing up to 10 lbs.
• This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in an office environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
• The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience using non-traditional learning environments.
• Experience working in a community college; an understanding of the role, philosophy, and mission of the community college model.
• Experience in programming and curriculum development.
