This is a part-time position, hours range from 6:00am-4:00pm. Must work every other Friday / weekend / holiday.


What You'll Bring to the Table:

At Country Manor, our culinary creations aren't just dishes; they're expressions of love for those we serve. As a Cook, you'll work as an integral part of our team, both leading and collaborating to ensure a seamless dining experience for residents. You'll be responsible for daily food production and preparation and ensuring that standards of quality are being met. We take tremendous pride in the Culinary Department, offering a variety of nutritious, delicious, and visually appealing options.


Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience ofat least 1 year of cooking experience in a long-term care facility or in a position that included frequent, large-scale catering
  • Preferred experience with special texture/special diet (IDDSI)
  • Preferred Serv Safe Certified
  • Must be able to cook independently for approximately 200 residents daily
  • Ability to handle various ingredients including but not limited to pork, chicken, beef, turkey, fruits and vegetables.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills are required
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure andensure food is ready at the specified meal serving times
  • Cooks must be able to work independently, managing their own time and station, while ensuring quality and timeliness of food.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food production, weights/measures, and recipe calculations
  • General knowledge of federal and state regulation compliance
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work a variety of assigned job duties depending on situational needs
  • Function as a team member, often requiring leadership and problem-solving/decision-making abilities


Responsibilities:

  • Follows all safety procedures/policies and directs instructions when applicable. Is familiar with general and departmental safety requirements, facility fire regulations and emergency plans. Attends training and in-service opportunities.
  • Prepares food in accordance with menus that is attractive, palatable and prepared within established guidelines of the facility and Minnesota Department of Health.
  • Directs dietary staff in food production methods and standards. Maintains a pleasant work atmosphere and environment for all staff.
  • Follows facility policy and standard practices to ensure appropriate infection control. This includes handwashing, food storage, proper cleaning of utensils, food handling practices (tongs and gloves, etc.)
  • Responsible for adequate sanitation of food preparation area (sinks, garbage, storeroom, cooler/freezer) and equipment (grill, stove, ovens, steamer, steam table).
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate attendance, health and hygiene according to departmental and position standards. Is punctual in arriving to work, meetings and following production schedules. Maintains confidentiality at all times.
