POSITION SUMMARY:
Wake up the mountain with flavor! Arapahoe Basin is looking for a skilled and energetic Breakfast Cook to join our Food & Beverage team and help deliver a day worth repeating for every guest. From sunrise scrambles to hearty mountain classics, you'll be crafting delicious breakfast fare in a fast-paced, food court-style kitchen while soaking in the high-altitude vibes.
This position has an estimated start date in December 2026.
WAGE:
The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of Arapahoe Basin's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, and responsibilities. The range listed is just one component of Arapahoe Basin's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.
Hourly pay range: $21.50 - $25.75/hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Independently open the café each morning, preparing stations and supplies for the day ahead
  • Prepare and serve high-quality breakfast items following A-Basin's recipes and standards
  • Keep your prep area stocked, organized, and sparkling clean
  • Rotate and store food properly to maintain freshness and minimize waste
  • Perform spot checks to ensure food safety and recipe accuracy
  • Support teammates across stations to keep service smooth and timely
  • Assist with special morning events and staff meals
  • Help with composting, recycling, and other sustainability efforts
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Follow all safety procedures to keep yourself and others safe
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least 6 months of experience in a quick-service or station-style kitchen
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills
  • Ability to stay focused and consistent during busy shifts
  • Must have reliable transportation capable of reaching the ski area for early morning breakfast shifts
  • Self-motivation and a team-first mindset
  • Confidence working independently, especially during early morning hours
  • Awareness of surroundings and commitment to safety
  • Must provide own, approved, non-slip footwear.
  • Available to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Use full range of body motion: bend, twist, kneel, push, pull and lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Stand and walk for 8+ hours.
  • Navigate stairs throughout your shift.
  • Withstand high altitude conditions at all times.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • You will work almost 100% of the time in a kitchen in a high-altitude environment. Some outside work in a cold and snowy environment is possible on any given day. Most work is performed in a highly trafficked area while working closely with other kitchen employees. Riding a chairlift may be required for certain work locations. Use of utensils such as knives, cooking devices such as fryers or cleaning tools such as mops, is frequent.
