Description

The Local Delivery Driver with AD Chemco will deliver large containers of chemicals to local dairies. Professional customer service and strong attention to detail are essential to the success of this position. As a local delivery driver, you will be home every night including weekends.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Drive within DOT-regulated hours to deliver chemicals to customers.
  • Deliver all products to the customers based on paperwork requirements.
  • Report issues to dispatch or sales for responsible accounts in the event of problems.
  • Make sure the load is secure.
  • Refuel and clean vehicle.
  • Report road incidents to management.
  • Follow traffic laws.
  • Inspect trucks and record issues.
  • Follow accident procedures.
  • Keep activities log and log hours.
  • Report mechanical problems to maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • Keep commercial driver's license, hazmat certification, and medical card up to date.
  • Ensure proper permits and SDS sheets are in the truck.
  • Make sure proper placards are in use.
  • Check for proper BOL/Shipping paperwork.
  • Perform warehouse work such as order fulfillment, loading and unloading trucks, manage warehouse products safely, and      correctly following all procedures.
  • Any other functions as required by and or directed by management.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Successfully pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug screen, and physical.
  • Requires Class A CDL with Hazmat and tanker endorsements.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Must be able to lift 100+ lbs. repeatedly.
  • Ability to work with a hand truck and to roll and maneuver 55 gallons (500lb) barrels.
  • Must exercise good judgment and decision-making skills. Excellent time management skills are required.
  • Must be detail-oriented with a high level of customer service.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills are required, including the ability to listen and speak with others to convey information effectively.
  • Exhibit regular and consistent attendance in a timely manner at the place of work.
  • Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment for job-appropriate duties to include protective eyewear, clothing, gloves, and appropriate footwear to provide protection from chemicals and other potential work hazards, in accordance with the Automated Dairy PPE Program.

License/Certification:

  • CDL A (Required)
  • Hazmat Endorsement (Required)
  • Tanker Endorsement (Required)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Driving: 2 years with hazmat and tanker endorsement.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
