Job description

Trucking Driver

Description of role: We are looking for safe and courteous Class A truck drivers with a minimum of two years of tanker experience. We offer competitive pay, good benefits, and a stable company that values its employees. Safety is our number one priority, which is why we have such a good safety record. Cool Transports offers newer trucks that are safe and comfortable for our drivers. The fleet is entirely company-owned and maintained on a strict schedule. We do not compromise where safety is involved.

Tasks:

  • Complete a daily truck log via the electronic logging device
  • Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately
  • Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible
  • Find ways to conserve resources, including fuel, to benefit the business
  • Serve as a brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public
  • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct yourself accordingly
  • Conduct daily inspections (DVIRs) of the vehicle at the end of the shift and report any problems or damage to management via the electronic logging device
  • Comply with all DOT and in-house regulations and rules
  • Pick up petroleum products from the loading rack and deliver to customer location in an efficient and safe manner

Skills and requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Class A driver's license in good standing
  • Two years of verifiable petroleum experience
  • Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement
  • Must have a clean DMV record
  • Must be drug free; random drug testing required per DOT regulation
  • Must pass initial drug test/physical/background check at time of hire

Work schedule: Full time, Sunday-Saturday, 24 hours a day. Shifts rotate on a 5-3, 5-2. Evenings and weekends are required. We never close. We run our trucks 24/7 to ensure our customers receive the best service.
