JOB TITLE: Civic Center Box Office Ticket Seller Part-Time
JOB CLASS NUMBER: HRL040
PAY GRADE: H01
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
BUSINESS UNIT NAME: Box Office Operations
REPORTS TO: Box Office Manager
SUPERVISORY WORK: None
WAGE: $11.00 per hour
SUMMARY
Under direction of the Box Office Manager, this position conducts ticket sales at the Box Office window and over the phone using a computerized ticketing system.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides superior customer service.
  • Answers patron questions with clear and correct information.
  • Conducts ticketing transactions utilizing a computerized ticketing system.
  • Handles cash, check and credit card transactions with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Is able to work in a fast-paced environment as business level fluctuates.
  • Accurately reconciles cash drawer and completes end-of-day reports.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or its equivalent is required. Six (6) months cashier and/or customer service experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Have a basic understanding of computers and be willing and able to learn new computer skills.
  • Ability to clearly speak and understand English to ensure information is communicated accurately.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and demonstrate good judgement.
  • Ability to read and write.
  • Knowledge of office procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of effective customer service practices.
  • Must have flexible work schedule that includes working evenings, weekends and holidays.
