Job description

  • Cleaning guest rooms thoroughly including, but not limited to:
    • Bed-making, vacuuming and/or mopping floors and carpets, dusting and wiping, walls and ceilings, dusting, stocking, adding supplies, cleaning mirrors and windows, cleaning phones, cleaning furniture, cleaning refrigerator/ microwave/coffee maker, and cleaning rooms all within an allotted time.
  • Use chemicals, cleaners, and cleaning equipment properly.
  • Assist in the carpet-care program by spotting the carpet as the room is cleaned.
  • Notify the Supervisor of bedspreads that need to be cleaned.
  • Stock and maintain housekeeping cart and linen storage room.
  • Be careful with resort property, including hallways walls, and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as requested; perform other cleanings as requested.
  • Clean guest bathrooms thoroughly including, but not limited to:
  • Floors, vanity, bathtub and shower curtains, stocking, adding supplies, toilet, towels, vents.
  • Obtain and complete the room assignment sheet properly.
  • Document maintenance issues.
  • Timely delivery of housekeeping items to hotels.
  • Maintained the overall cleanliness of company vehicles.
  • Sort all linens.
  • Make sure all laundry equipment is in perfect condition and communicate to appropriate person about any maintenance needs.
  • Keep laundry neat and clean.
  • Clean hallways, common areas, vending areas, and stairwells as assigned (mopping, vacuuming, wiping).
  • Clean outside walkways and parking lots (sweeping, spraying).
  • Clean elevators, lobby area, public restrooms, offices, and meeting room space.
  • Other tasks may be assigned by the department head

  • Ability to communicate with the public, hotel staff, and management in a professional manner.
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • 6 months housekeeping experience (hospitality preferred).
  • Familiar with industrys best practices
  • Responsible and trustworthy
  • Computer and phone literacy required
  • Work experience as a Room Attendant
  • Experience with industrial cleaning equipment and products
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must have the ability to bend, squat, and frequently lift 25 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 75 lbs, occasionally.
  • Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed
  • A high school diploma is a plus
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
