Job description

Position Overview Work as a team member with Altamonte Baseball Academy staff to ensure a strong service line and team approach in baseball instruction, which includes all aspects of the game such as hitting, pitching, fielding and catching to player's ages four (4) to eighteen (18); and support services and training for ABA volunteer coaches and managers. Position Functions Work directly with Baseball Coordinator/Senior Instructor to ensure the best experience for all Altamonte Baseball Academy (ABA) participants. Educate participants and coaches; targeting their specific training needs.

Assist ABA instructors, coaches, managers and players where necessary during instructional sessions, camps, clinics, practices and games. Conduct individual, group and team baseball instruction to registered ABA participants. Actively involve ABA participants during times when instruction is in session.

Manage and assist the development of competitive travel team program. Ensure the integrity of the brand. Communicate youth sports philosophy and ideals of sportsmanship to all ABA participants.

Evaluate ABA lessons and adapt instruction based on participant's development. Assist with training for ABA volunteers, coaches and managers. Implement and/or participate in programs, projects and other events within the ABA.

Assist with the set up and break down of training areas. Work independently and be responsible for overseeing ABA activities as assigned. Follow ABA curriculum and assure strategic goals are aligned and accomplished successfully.

Demonstrate a professional demeanor in all contacts with City employees and the public at all times. Drive or travel to and from sponsored events on behalf of the City; may include out of state travel. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Four (4) seasons of experience coaching youth baseball and/or college playing experience.

Four (4) seasons of experience conducting youth baseball training programs. Must be able to work various hours to include evenings and weekends. Valid driver license.

Must obtain Florida driver license within thirty (30) days of employment. PREFERABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Valid American Red Cross CPR/AED Certification (Must obtain within three (3) months of employment) Valid American Red Cross First Aid Certification (Must obtain within three (3) months of employment) Previous experience conducting private instruction. Previous experience coaching travel teams.

Administrative duties conducting youth softball programs. Babe Ruth Baseball Coaching Certificate Supplemental Information Applicants will be required to complete a Disclosure & Authorization Regarding Background Investigation, a Confidentiality Agreement, and a VECHS Level 2 nationally fingerprint-based records check. Driving history for the past three (3) years must reflect no violations of a driving related offense, or driving under the influence (DUI) which includes both drugs and alcohol, reckless driving, or hit and run involving an occupied vehicle or attended property, or an accumulation of traffic violations, plus three (3) points for each attendance at driving school (regardless of whether points were assessed against the license) where the penalty points do not exceed twelve (12).
