To thrive as a Weekend Backend Engineer, you need strong programming skills (often in languages like Python, Java, or Node.js), a solid understanding of server-side frameworks, and experience with databases, typically supported by a degree in computer science or equivalent experience. Familiarity with tools such as RESTful APIs, cloud platforms (like AWS or Azure), and version control systems (e.g., Git) is essential.
