Additionally, babysitters may need to handle multiple children with varying needs or resolve sibling conflicts. Effective communication with parents about expectations and routines, as well as preparing engaging activities in advance, can help address these challenges and ensure a smooth babysitting experience. Flexibility, patience, and strong problem-solving skills are key to successfully managing weekend shifts.

Job description

This is a Nanny Manager position for a professional, confident, and kind individual who can truly take charge and bring calm leadership to a busy household. The family is seeking someone proactive, organized, and trustworthy who takes ownership of both the children's needs and the day-to-day flow of the home, allowing the parents-one of whom is a primary care physician-to focus on their careers. Responsibilities include preparing uniforms and outfits, managing school drop-offs and pick-ups at two different schools, running errands, laundry coordination (with an existing dry cleaner and housekeeper), vendor and maintenance scheduling, light household organization projects, grocery shopping, meal prep with a focus on healthy eating, and getting the home prepared for guests. The role involves caring for an energetic 8-year-old who enjoys play, outings, and activities, as well as supporting a largely independent 15-year-old primarily through transportation. The ideal candidate is a safe, attentive driver, highly punctual, professional, calm, and warm-someone who leads with initiative rather than needing micromanagement. This position is 3-4 days per week, approximately 30-40 hours, with occasional babysitting, starting around June/July. Pay is $25-$30 per hour, and the family values longevity, having previously employed the same nanny for eight years.
