About Us
Billion Auto is a premier collision repair center dedicated to quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. We are looking for a detail-oriented, efficient Body Shop Teardown Technician to join our production team and ensure accurate repair planning from the very start.
Job Summary
The Teardown Technician plays a crucial role in our collision repair process. You will be responsible for the initial disassembly, thorough inspection, and documentation of vehicle damage, as well as the final reassembly of vehicles. This position helps minimize supplements by ensuring all hidden damage is identified before repairs begin.
Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Check-in & Prep: Perform initial check-in and prewash of vehicles upon arrival.
  • Damage Analysis: Read estimates and compare them to actual vehicle damage.
  • Documentation: Map unrelated/prior damage and take detailed photos of damage for insurance supplements.
  • Disassembly: Perform systematic teardown of vehicles per the estimate, separating parts for replacement vs. repair.
  • Parts Organization: Properly label, inventory, and store all parts and fasteners to prevent loss or damage.
  • Reassembly: Perform reassembly of vehicles after body and paint repairs are completed.
  • Part Preparation: Perform part preparation by cleaning, sanding, and masking components as needed.
  • Shop Maintenance: Keep paint areas, disassembly stalls, and work areas neat, clean, and organized.
  • Specialty Services: Install and repair bedliners as needed.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in an auto body shop, specifically in disassembly, teardown, or as an apprentice technician.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts and collision repair processes.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written estimates and repair orders.
  • Attention to detail, with a focus on identifying hidden damage.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • I-CAR training or ASE certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for long periods, stoop, bend, and kneel.
  • Ability to lift and carry parts weighing up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a loud, fast-paced shop environment with exposure to dust and paint fumes.
