Part Time Body Shop information

How much is body shop labor per hour?

Body shop labor rates for technicians typically range from $40 to $100 per hour, depending on location, experience, and the complexity of repairs. Skilled technicians with certifications may charge higher rates, and shops often include additional costs for parts and materials.

How to work at a car body shop?

To work at a car body shop as a technician or painter, you typically need a high school diploma or equivalent, relevant training or certification such as I-CAR or ASE, and experience with tools and repair techniques. Skills in welding, sanding, and painting are important, and safety procedures must be followed in a shop environment. Some positions may require a valid driver's license and the ability to work with customer vehicles efficiently.

What does a body shop worker make?

A part-time body shop worker typically earns between $12 and $20 per hour, depending on experience, location, and specific duties. Compensation may also include benefits such as paid time off or training opportunities, and workers often need skills in vehicle repair, painting, and use of specialized tools.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part-Time Body Shop Technician, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part-Time Body Shop Technician, you need a solid understanding of automotive repair, bodywork techniques, and safety procedures, often supported by vocational training or relevant certifications. Familiarity with tools such as spray guns, welding equipment, dent repair systems, and estimating software is typically required. These abilities ensure high-quality repairs, efficient workflow, and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Do body shops make a lot of money?
