We are looking for motivated people with a dedication to working with senior citizens in a residential setting. HOURS: Casual weekends. All shifts available
RESPONSIBLE TO: DON and RN
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
โ€ขAssist the resident with personal cares which may include all or some of the following: shampooing of hair, assist with showering, rubbing with lotions, fingernail or toenail care if instructed to do so, redirection of a confused resident, and other cares as assigned.
โ€ขAssist with dressing, grooming and oral cares as assigned.
โ€ขAssist in use of hearing aids and glasses for residents.
โ€ขAnswer calls from residents for assistance to determine residentโ€™s needs.
โ€ขHelp each resident to reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence.
โ€ขAssist with treatments as delegated by the RN per individualized care plan.
โ€ขObserve resident and report changes in physical and emotional condition such as change in attitude, loss of appetite, weight, etcโ€ฆ
โ€ขMedication administration/assistance as delegated by RN.
โ€ขManeuver medication cart without difficulty.
โ€ขTake and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration as instructed; report changes or concerns to RN.
โ€ขAttend staff meetings and in-service training.
โ€ขLight housekeeping tasks such as dusting and cleaning residentโ€™s room.
โ€ขTransport residents or assist resident to walk. Assist with transfers as needed.
โ€ขChange bed linens, run errands, direct visitors, and answer telephone.
โ€ขLaunder residentโ€™s personal laundry.
โ€ขAssist resident with continence care.
โ€ขComplete appropriate documentation on each resident as warranted.
โ€ขOther duties as assigned.
