Weekend Warrior Certified Nursing Assistant

A family-owned business since 1955, purchased in partnership by Eastern Maine Health Systems and First Atlantic Healthcare in 2013, Hibbard Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has offered quality care to the elderly in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine and surrounding area communities. We have become well known for that care and we continue that tradition with pride. Since 1972, we have been in our modern 93-bed facility on the Guilford Road in Dover-Foxcroft, and have been providing the utmost in quality care services since. Under the ownership of First Atlantic Healthcare, Hibbard Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation follows in First Atlantic's long standing reputation for excellence in Long Term Care.

An every weekend scheduling option to CNAs newly hired in the Nursing department on a limited basis. Employees must make a commitment to enroll in the program for twenty-six (26) consecutive weekends (six months). During this period, the employee will be scheduled to work a minimum of three (3) twelve (12) hour or two(2) sixteen (16) hour shifts per weekend.

For the purpose of defining this program, the "weekend" begins on Friday at 6:30am and ends on Monday evening at 7:00pm.

A Certified Nursing Assistant's Job Responsibilities

  • Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary and ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; and providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
  • Assistance with showering/bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
  • Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs.
  • Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' call lights and requests; and reporting observations of the patient to nursing supervisor.
  • Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
  • Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping patient information confidential.
  • Serves and protects the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures; federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in professional organizations, and maintaining licensure.
  • Enhances nursing department and hospital reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
