Job description

Art Installer / Handler 
Kramer Installation, Inc, has provided fine art services to interior designers, private collectors, art consultants and commercial clientele for over 20 years. Based out of the Hunt Valley area, we are looking for a detail oriented person as an Art Installer for our growing business. This position’s primary responsibility would be residential installations as well as packing and transporting fine art. Part Time to start leading into a Full Time position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installation of a wide range of artworks at private homes, offices, galleries and commercial spaces
  • Handle and move artworks, including wrapping and packing using appropriate techniques and materials
  • Drive a Sprinter Van for appointments as needed between jobs
  • Keeps vehicles and tool bags consistently clean and organized
  • Is available for occasional travel overnight out of state

REQUIREMENTS

  • MINIMUM 3 YEARS EXPERIENCE handling artwork at a museum, gallery, frame shop or art shipping organization.
  • Demonstrates expertise in art handling techniques
  • Comfortable on a ladders at heights up to 20’
  • Follows instructions well and able to work directly with clients
  • Works well independently and as a team
  • Must be able to lift 75lbs unassisted and able to lift and/or move up to 150-200lbs as a team
  • Must have own transportation with valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Must like cats and dogs as we work in many homes with pets
  • Must be available for occasional weekend and evening work
  • Must be reliable and have a strong work ethic
  • Willing to train the right individual

  • Knowledge and interest in fine art
  • Demonstrates knowledge of handling, packing, transporting and installing artwork and sculpture
  • Strong attention to detail, discretion, and follow-through
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work well under pressure
  • Problem solving, organizational skills and time management ability
  • Desire to work hard and help grow a company
  • Ability to divide numbers in half without using a calculator
  • Bonus points for skills in Picture Framing, Carpentry, Mount Making and Crate Building Skills
