Job description

Overview
The Director of Community Partnerships serves as the lead fundraising and community engagement professional for Arrow Child & Family Ministries' Maryland programs and as a collaborative partner to the Sr. Director of Development. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive philanthropic strategies that advance the mission of Arrow's Maryland special education schools and programs.
The Director of Community Partnerships will cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporations, community organizations, legislators, and other stakeholders to build community awareness and secure philanthropic support for program operations, strategic advancements, capital initiatives, student enrichment opportunities, and innovative programming. This position works in tandem with the Development team and Maryland's leadership to ensure that fundraising initiatives align with both organizational priorities and programmatic needs, ultimately supporting Arrow's mission of Helping Kids & Strengthening Families.

Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
  • Develop and execute an annual fundraising and development strategy that supports Arrow's strategic goals as well as Maryland schools and programs.
  • Build, manage, and grow a comprehensive donor portfolio using strategic cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship practices.
  • Identify and secure support from individual, corporate, foundation, civic, and major gift donors.
  • Conduct donor visits, school tours, presentations, and engagement activities to strengthen relationships and increase support.
  • Create and deliver compelling donor communications, proposals, impact reports, presentations, and stewardship materials.
  • Ensure timely donor acknowledgment, recognition, reporting, and relationship management efforts.
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with businesses, community organizations, educational institutions, and philanthropic groups throughout Maryland.
  • Represent Arrow at community events, networking opportunities, conferences, and public speaking engagements to increase visibility and support.
  • Develop and manage volunteer, internship, and community engagement opportunities that advance student success and organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with school and program leadership to identify funding priorities and support educational, therapeutic, vocational, technology, and capital initiatives.
  • Support the Grant team's efforts by identifying funding opportunities, providing program information and outcomes data, and assisting with reporting requirements.
  • Lead and support fundraising and community engagement events, including sponsorship development, promotion, execution, and post-event evaluation.
  • Maintain accurate donor records, gift processing, contribution tracking, and revenue reconciliation in partnership with the Development team.
  • Monitor fundraising performance, prepare forecasts and reports, and track progress toward established goals and key performance indicators.
  • Serve as a collaborative leader by supporting strategic initiatives, maintaining professional development, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and advancing Arrow's mission and values.
  • Must maintain discretion and be able to perform with highly confidential donor information.
  • Understand and comply with all policies and procedures related to handling monetary and in-kind donations.
  • Scheduling flexibility, which includes nights and weekends, as required by the event calendar, with periodic travel as needed.
  • Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, company policy, and regulatory agency standards.
  • May be required to drive vehicles, be insurable with our auto insurance provider, and complete company vehicle training.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in human services, business, statistics, or related field required, master's degree preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience in donor relations, donor management, and/or nonprofit fundraising, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant management experience. Relevant marketing experience related to donor relation cultivation and engagement preferred.
