FZ is looking for an Service Technician (Journeyman)
 for the Grand Rapids office. This role is responsible for electrical installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance within commercial and industrial settings. Dependable and motivated, this role works as a team player to drive success on team projects as well as on independent projects.


Schedule:

Typically Monday through Friday. Weekends as needed. Availability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule, occurring approximately 4–5 times per year, with each assignment spanning a one-week period from 7:00 AM Monday to 7:00 AM the following Monday to support emergency service calls outside of standard business hours.

Key Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current Michigan Journeyman's license - required
  • Ability to work an on-call rotation (to cover nights, weekends, and holidays) as needed outside of typical Monday - Friday shifts - required
  • Ability to travel locally (typically a 60 mile radius +/- from our warehouse) to project sites, work overtime, and in varied weather conditions - required
  • Ability to work at elevated heights and to lift up to 50 lbs as needed - required
  • 5+ years' continuous experience as an Electrician/Journeyman/Service Technician -  required
  • Experience working in commercial and industrial settings - required 
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed - required
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and comfort with technology 
  • Strong knowledge of the most recent National Electrical Code
  • Skilled at reading and following blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Mechanical/technical aptitude and a passion for teaching others in this area 
  • Ability to informally lead others, including directing work and coaching for improvement
  • Demonstrated focus on safety, quality, customer service, and goal attainment
  • Operates with honesty and integrity
  • Self-driven, reliable, and able to work independently even under pressure
  • Solid planning, organizing, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration with peers and leaders
