Job description

Assistant Carpenter - Apprentice
Haynes Group Inc. is in search of an Assistant Carpenter / Apprentice to work with the Haynes Group team or in collaboration with Carpenters to complete an array of tasks on commercial projects including, interior demolition, rough and finish carpentry, metal frame and drywall, taping and finishing, acoustic ceilings, installation of finishes, and laboring.
The right Assistant Carpenter is knowledgeable in a variety of trades, has strong customer service skills, experience working with a team and knowledge in the field of construction.
Role and Responsibilities:
โ€ข Assist in Completion job specific tasks on commercial projects including, but not limited to interior demolition, rough and finish carpentry, metal frame and drywall, taping and finishing, acoustic ceilings, and installation of finishes, and laboring.
โ€ข Work with carpenters, project managers, and supervisors to maintain project schedules, define subcontractor scope, and provide solutions to onsite issues.
โ€ข Assist carpenters in completing punch list and the closeout process.
โ€ข Maintain a good working relationship with all subcontractors.
โ€ข Complete OSHA 10 Hour training course if not in possession.
โ€ข Understand and follow company safety procedures.
Requirements
Qualifications:
โ€ข 1-3 years of experience in construction
โ€ข Provide your own basic hand tools, and transportation to and from Jobsites or Office/ Shop
โ€ข Must be detail oriented and have proven problem solving skills
โ€ข Excellent verbal communication skills
โ€ข Must be self-motivated & punctual
โ€ข Must be able to work with minimal supervision
โ€ข Must be professional in appearance
โ€ข Must have a valid driver's license
โ€ข Learn internal company software and systems and processes.
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand, and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking.
Physical Demands: The job requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of heavy materials and equipment. Laborers often stand, bend, kneel, and climb ladders or scaffolding for extended periods. Work may involve tasks at heights and in confined spaces.
Safety Requirements: Employees must adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and high-visibility clothing. Fall protection systems are mandatory for work at heights above six feet, including guardrails, safety nets, or personal fall-arrest systems.
