JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Summary

The Maintenance Apprentice works under the guidance of experienced maintenance employees to learn and perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, facilities, and support systems. This position combines on-the-job training with classroom or technical instruction to develop the skills necessary for a maintenance technician role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Learn to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks including lubrication, equipment inspections, and parts replacement.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
  • Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and company policies.
  • Assist with air leaks, lubrication routes
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Participate in technical training and apprenticeship coursework.
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance technicians, operations personnel, and supervisors.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Enrollment in or willingness to participate in a registered apprenticeship or technical trade program.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work safely in an industrial environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical school coursework in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, welding, mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Previous manufacturing, mechanical, or maintenance experience.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (EAM).
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces when required.

PROFIT SHARING: In 2026 Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $3,600 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate.
