Job description

Summary:

Responsible for preparing hot and cold drinks while providing excellent customer service and maintaining a clean work environment.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Take customer orders and accurately prepare coffee, teas, blended coffees and other hot or cold drinks and prepared food items for customers.
  • Provide excellent customer service and answer customer questions about products; positively represent the Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital.
  • Responsible for keeping work area clean including service areas, utensils and equipment.
  • Stock and replenish supplies as needed.
  • Receive and process customer payments; properly and accurately perform cash handling duties.
  • Successfully perform other duties as assigned.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Three or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Responsible to take call on evenings and weekends.

Computer Skills:

Position may utilize Microsoft Office suite, email and a cash register.

Certification/Licensure:

  • Valid State of Alaska ID or Driver's license, preferred.
  • Must obtain a State of Alaska Food Worker Card within 30 days of employment.
  • Serve Safe Food Handler Card or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire.
