Job description

Job Summary: The Airport Operations Specialist serves as the primary ground support resource for all airport operations. This role supports the safe, efficient airport activity through airfield operations, aircraft servicing, and overall airport readiness that reflects the high standards of the Ocean Reef Club.
Responsibilities include performing ground services, operational services, and customer service all while maintaining the airport's safety standards. This position also performs administrative & club related duties as delegated by Airport Management.
Essential Duties and responsibilities
  • Greet arriving and departing members, guests, and flight crews with professionalism, discretion, and genuine hospitality.
  • Performs Operational Service functions which include inspections and upkeep for airport assets, facilities, runway, ramp, equipment, fuel, etc.
  • Performs Aircraft Servicing functions which include marshaling, fueling, towing, lavatory service, ground power service, facilitating ramp movements for arriving and departing aircraft, and other ground support functions.
  • Maintains cleanliness and presentation standards for all airport areas.
  • Provide accurate information regarding Club events, amenities, airport rules, and operating procedures.
  • Coordinate aircraft and operational services with peers and the Concierge Team (fueling, GPU, lavatory, towing, hazardous waste, inspections, etc).
  • Follows & enforces compliance with club, airport, ORCA, state, and federal aviation rules and regulations.
  • Monitor and communicate hazardous weather conditions.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of daily inspections, aircraft activity, parking reports, incidents, rule violations, fuel sales, and feedback.
  • Report violations of airport safety or procedures and follow the Airport Safety Management System (SMS) protocols.
  • Uses proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and operations equipment.
  • Safely Operate ground service equipment, such as Lektro tugs, golf carts, GPU's, lavatory cart, transport vans, etc.
  • Keeps Airport Management informed of events and activities of an unusual nature as well as routine matters related to their and others' accountability
  • Attends classes, training, conferences, workshops and meetings as directed to maintain job knowledge and skills.
  • Performs all other assigned duties.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Previous experience in aviation industry or schooling preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor required.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently, troubleshoot, and respond effectively in emergency situations.
  • General knowledge of aviation procedures, weather reporting, aircraft types/performance, and phonetic alphabet.
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in aviation or related field is preferred.

Language
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.

  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions and may be required to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Noise level in the work environment can be moderate to loud
  • Must be able to work weekends, nights, Holiday's and be flexible to schedule changes according to workload demands between 7am - 10pm and very rarely outside those hours
  • Must be able to work with all types of paints and chemicals, including aviation fuels
