JOB SUMMARY: The Regional Operations Manager has direct oversight and influence over all logistics activity within a defined geographic market.

Overall, you are accountable for establishing priorities and providing leadership to the people at the core of our company operations who coordinate daily freight movements. On a micro level, you produce ongoing analysis of trailer pools, outbound demand, on-time performance, priority of freight, billing, and other details that challenge your ability to balance multiple needs at once.

Because this role is accountable for the retention of both company personnel and customers, all functions of this position are critical for maintaining a competitive edge and preserving the overall integrity of company services.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building a positive atmosphere by challenging others to achieve optimal business results

  • Monitoring balance, capacity, and demand of loads and trucks

  • Customer order management

  • Monitoring outbound freight volume relative to customer-awarded commitments. Question inconsistencies as they arise

  • Developing contingency plans to cover critical situations

  • Assisting with generating new capacity through rate negotiations for unplanned new lanes and volume

  • Regular and ad-hoc reporting (P&L, revenue share, load counts, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable federal/state regulations and DOT regulations

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel reporting functions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with transportation of temperature-controlled product

  • Highly organized and communicative, especially in the development of actions plans and to ensure accountability and follow-through

  • Ability to perform in a demanding, deadline-driven environment with rapidly changing priorities

  • Some knowledge of the AS/400 operating system preferred

  • Ability to handle high volumes of inbound communications
