Job description

Job Title: Accounting Clerk
Department: Administration
Reports To: Assistant Controller
SUMMARY
Compiles, computes, and processes data for multi-site dealership. Prepares and/or processes accounting reports, distributes and handles a variety of car deal accounting transactions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Process and file all on demand checks.
  • Prepare purchase orders when needed.
  • Back up A/P vender clerk.
  • Processes all dealer trades.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting procedures.
  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
  • Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.
  • Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
  • Performs various accounting duties.
  • Requires being at work on time and have satisfactory attendance.
  • Any other duties assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Individual must have good interpersonal skills, good communication skills, basic computer knowledge, ability to work well with others, professional appearance, good math and clerical skills, working knowledge of office machines, positive attitude, excellent organization skills. Individual should perform duties with little or no supervision, read and comprehend instructions and information, be able to work weekends and overtime. Individual should be honest, ethical, dependable and a team player.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three or more years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum Associates Degree in Accounting required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Driver's License and driving record. Requires a credit check.
