Job Overview:

As a Gap Year Educational Consultant at Cardinal Education, youll gain valuable hands-on experience in education, mentorship, and business operationsall while making a direct impact on students' academic success.


This full-time, one to two-year role is ideal for high-achieving recent graduates who want to challenge themselves in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Youll coach students one-on-one in academic subjects and standardized testing while also contributing to core business functions such as curriculum development, recruiting, and project execution.


Youll leave Cardinal Education with refined communication skills, real-world consulting experience, and the ability to thrive in high-performance environmentsmaking you a stronger candidate for future academic and professional endeavors.


Responsibilities:

  • Academic Coaching and Mentorship

Provide one-on-one academic mentorship in various academic subjects and/or standardized exams, guiding students to discover their strengths, reduce stress, and overcome academic challenges. Complete comprehensive training programs to effectively identify and address students' individual strengths and weaknesses.

  • Business Development

Engage in core business functions, including but not limited to curriculum development, establishing partnerships with educational professionals and local organizations, managing client relationships, driving recruitment initiatives, and contributing to the implementation and development of company policies.


Qualifications:

Eligibility

  • A recent graduate planning to pursue graduate or professional school (e.g., law, medicine, business, education) after one year.
  • Proficiency in multiple high school core subjects, with an emphasis on AP-level sciences as a plus.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and commit to the role for a minimum of one full school year.
  • Experience in successful group work and completing complex projects.

Experience

  • Prior tutoring or test prep experience is advantageous.

Education

  • Bachelors degree from a nationally accredited university.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • A high level of energy and sociability
  • Exceptional writing ability
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad spectrum of people, including executives, students, and other coaches
  • Ability to work independently yet dutifully within company pedagogy and processes
  • Apply relentless dedication to delivering results
  • Drive to help cultivate student thinking so that students become well-rounded and no longer need coaching
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and G Suite and familiarity with social networking platforms.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Publisher, and marketing materials is a plus.
