Job description

The Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication work on marine and civil construction projects. This includes welding and assembling structural steel, pipework, and other metal components used in infrastructure such as jetties, bridges, wharves, seawalls, piles, and retaining structures. The role requires strong technical welding ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality in both workshop and field-based environments, including over water or in confined spaces.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Layout components in accordance with detailed prints providedย 
  • Fit up components and verify they are within specified tolerancesย 
  • Set up weld equipment for specific task to be performedย 
  • Weld components using proper equipment and techniquesย 
  • Grind and finish welds to make aesthetically appealingย 
  • Perform daily housekeeping tasks and preventative maintenance tasksย 
  • Operate material handling equipment as needed based on safety guidelinesย 
  • Other miscellaneous duties as neededย 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must possess a TWIC Cardย 
  • Preference given to candidates with 5 years of Welder experience at meets or exceeds performance expectationsย
