Familiarity with welding equipment, safety protocols, and sometimes experience with industrial or maritime-specific tools is important. Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and reliability help welders excel in demanding and safety-sensitive environments. These skills ensure high-quality workmanship, compliance with security regulations, and safe operations in secure or restricted worksites.

What is a full time TWIC card welder?

A Full Time TWIC Card Welder is a professional welder who works full-time and holds a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card. This credential is required for workers who need unescorted access to secure areas of maritime facilities and vessels regulated by the U.S. Coast Guard. TWIC Card Welders often work in shipyards, ports, or other secure maritime environments, performing welding tasks on ships, docks, pipelines, or other structures. Their responsibilities include joining metal parts, repairing marine equipment, and ensuring welds meet safety and quality standards. Having a TWIC card demonstrates that the welder has passed a security threat assessment conducted by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
