About the role
We are seeking a driven, entrepreneurial VP of C3, Growth to lead go-to-market strategy and drive meaningful growth outcomes for Forterra's Command, Control, and Communications (C3) ecosystem within our autonomy platform.
This role is central to scaling adoption of Forterra's C3 infrastructure across defense and government customers. You will grow early engagements into enduring, impactful programs that strengthen operational capability and enable distributed, autonomy-enabled operations at scale.
As VP of C3, Growth, you will connect Forterra's technical C3 stack, including operator interfaces, remote communications links, API integrations, and autonomy systems, to real mission needs. You will ensure our command and control capabilities are positioned not just as features, but as foundational infrastructure for autonomous battlefield networks.
What you'll do
Develop and Execute Go-to-Market Strategy
  • Identify and prioritize growth opportunities for Forterra's C3 and autonomy solutions across defense and government customers
  • Craft market entry and expansion strategies that position Forterra's C3 ecosystem as mission-critical infrastructure
  • Shape customer engagements to align distributed command and control capabilities with operational requirements

Drive Growth Outcomes
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders across commands, program offices, and acquisition organizations
  • Build alignment around pilot programs and lead the strategy to convert them into scaled, enduring deployments
  • Translate operational requirements into product direction, ensuring C3 capabilities deliver measurable mission impact

Lead Cross-Functional Execution
  • Coordinate across engineering, product, and business development teams to align customer needs with delivered capabilities
  • Drive execution from initial engagement through deployment, sustainment, and expansion
  • Help build and scale the C3-focused growth function as adoption increases

Expand Forterra's Footprint
  • Identify opportunities to embed Forterra's C3 and autonomy systems into existing and emerging defense programs
  • Propose innovative applications of distributed command and control to support evolving mission sets
  • Support the development of new business lines rooted in scalable C3 infrastructure

Minimum Qualifications

  • Defense policy, acquisition, or program management within DoD or other government agencies

  • Demonstrated ability to turn pilot programs into enduring operational capabilities with government customers.
  • Strong understanding of command and control systems, distributed networks, communications infrastructure, or autonomy-enabled platforms.
  • Ability to operate effectively at the intersection of technical systems and customer strategy.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering and product teams to align roadmaps with market opportunities.
  • A strong sense of urgency and ownership, with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and drive outcomes in ambiguous settings.
  • U.S. Person status required to access export-controlled data.

The salary range for this role is an estimate and is based on a wide variety of compensation factors. The salary offered to candidates will vary based on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) relevant work experience, education, specialized training, critical expertise, training, and more. Equity in Forterra is included in most of our full-time, high-demand roles and is therefore considered part of Forterra's overall compensation package. In addition to base salary and equity, Forterra offers competitive benefits for full-time employees including:
