Pay Rate: $16.50/hour | Monday-Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
About the Role
Join BD's dynamic Warehouse Operations team as an Operator 1 and play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient handling, sterilization, and inventory management of critical medical products. This hands-on position offers a stable weekday schedule, opportunities to work at both Madison and Covington locations, and the chance to advance your skills in a supportive, growth-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
  • Safely unload inbound trucks, verify inventory, and stack boxes according to specific pallet patterns
  • Operate stand-up forklifts to transport and locate pallets within warehouse racks
  • Accurately receive and process materials using IBM Data Collection scanners and JD Edwards system
  • Assemble sterilization loads per diagrams, including placing Biological Indicators
  • Complete and maintain sterilization load records and documentation
  • Accept and verify materials from other departments for ethylene oxide sterilization
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas according to quality and regulatory standards
  • Support inventory control and buying/selling processes
  • Collaborate with team members and work independently as needed
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including safe lifting and handling of up to 30 lbs

Required Skills and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified forklift operator with successful completion of Lift Drivers Test
  • 2-3 years' experience with material handling equipment, especially stand-up fork trucks (preferred)
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment
  • Strong attention to detail for reading and interpreting distribution documents
  • Solid communication skills in basic English
  • Basic math skills for operational tasks
  • Sound reasoning and problem-solving ability

Preferred Skills
  • Experience working between multiple plant locations
  • Familiarity with JD Edwards and IBM Data Collection systems
  • Prior experience in medical device or regulated warehouse environments
