Job description

$500 CONTRACT COMPLETION BONUS
Opportunity:
RN - MedSurg
Job Details:
• Float Pool position requiring travel to multiple units and anywhere in the hospital where MedSurg patients are located, including ER Holding/Boarding
• Shift times: 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM (days) and 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM (nights)
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• Schedule is made 4-6 weeks at a time with 2 weeks notice prior to start; block scheduling considered upon request but not guaranteed
• No on-call responsibilities
• May work up to 50% of holidays during contract
• Patient ratios: 1:4-6 on days and 1:6 on nights
• Minimum 2 years of MedSurg experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Care for patients across multiple unit types including General Medical/Surgical, Ortho/Neuro, and Cardiac units
• Patient types include oncology (no chemo administration required), surgical, general medical, orthopedic, neurological, and cardiac patients
• May occasionally monitor remote telemetry patients if Tele techs are short-staffed
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: chest tubes, stable trach management, IV skills, port/central line management, CPAP/BiPAP/Airvo knowledge, foley insertion and care, feeding tubes, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Titrating drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, and argatroban (manager approval required if no drip experience)
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Equipment used: Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Scrub color: Any solid color, professional; no graphics, logos, or designs

This facility is a 101-licensed bed Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center offering a wide range of medical and surgical services. The hospital supports travelers with a traveler-friendly culture and strong teamwork atmosphere. On-unit support includes HUCs on days, CNAs, a charge nurse, phlebotomy services, 24/7 respiratory therapy, 24/7 hospitalist coverage via secure EPIC chat, and weekday OT, PT, and ST services with limited weekend availability.
