Summary of Job
Summer Seasonal: May through October (variable hours; approximately 20-25 hours/week, Typical Schedule: Saturday, Sunday and Monday)
The Downtown Beloit Association is an award winning Main Street program working to encourage balanced residential and commercial growth - to nurture a work-live-play community with an urban flair.
This position is responsible for watering seasonal plantings, weeding, trash removal, and general upkeep of public spaces within the district. This position will also require on-site support in implementation of events throughout the season, including the Farmers' Market. This position requires an energetic and adaptable individual who is adept at multi-tasking, assuming responsibility and exercising personal initiative.
Actively looking for someone who can work until the end of October, 2026.
Qualifications
Must be creative, enthusiastic, highly organized, motivated, dependable, patient and able to maintain discipline. Must be capable of following directions and have an ability to learn new skills. Possess good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to complete daily paperwork and work well with others from different cultures and backgrounds.
Must be 16 years of age upon employment and possess a valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day and 75 pounds occasionally. Knowledge of garden tools and power equipment, such as lawn tractor, weed and hedge trimmers, hose and accessories, golf cart and water pump required. Experience in grounds maintenance and equipment care preferred.
Wage: $14.00/hour
