Location: Plymouth, MI Shift: 1st (6:45am-5:15pm) Pay: $19/hr
Job Summary
Are you a motivated and mechanically inclined individual looking for a hands-on manufacturing opportunity? We are seeking a Machine Operator – Extrusion to safely and efficiently operate, adjust, and maintain extrusion equipment to produce material that meets customer specifications and quality standards.
This role is essential in ensuring production flow, equipment performance, and product quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Machine Operator, your core responsibilities will include:

• Operate extrusion machines on designated production lines
• Change out dies and perform basic maintenance and calibration on equipment
• Make machine adjustments to ensure quality product output
• Ensure machinery is continuously supplied with required material
• Assist packers with packaging per customer specifications
• Communicate and work with packers to meet production goals and provide break relief
• Safely operate forklift and overhead crane to move dies, material, and equipment
• Read and follow work instructions and standard operating procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation
• Cross-train in other production areas as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Basic math skills required
• Mechanically inclined with understanding of hand tools and measuring tools (calipers, tape measure, screwdrivers, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and motivation
• Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English
• Previous forklift experience required
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Previous manufacturing or extrusion experience preferred

Skills:
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
• Good time management and ability to meet production goals
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and consistently
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit or stand for 12+ hours per day
• Frequent use of hands, wrists, and arms with repetitive motion
• Ability to push, pull, grasp, and reach
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Ability to bend, stoop, and walk frequently

Work Environment:
• Temperature-controlled facility
• Required PPE: safety glasses at all times, safety gloves, steel-toe shoes/boots, ear protection as needed
