Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished.
  • Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines
  • Exhibit active leadership in order to model and support the company's vision and strategies
  • Set up and run equipment safely and efficiently in order to maximize output while meeting customer quality requirements
  • Accurately and efficiently fulfill customer orders:

Packing
  • Review manufacturing orders in order to verify internal and external customer specifications
  • Ensure all quality practices are being followed
  • Perform inspections of aluminum extrusion orders after the material has exited the age oven
  • Check the hardness and temper of each alloy
  • Package orders based on customer specifications (customer pack prints)
  • Load trailers based on customer specifications (customer pack prints) as needed
  • Meet delivery schedules to ensure customer service and satisfaction based on updated shipping board

Fabrication
  • Set up and run cutting equipment in order to make modifications to aluminum parts
  • Inspect the parts as required to ensure the parts meet customer quality specifications
  • Ensure proper deburring, in order to guarantee that no burrs or sharp edges are on any parts
  • Inspect the parts to ensure that no nylon residue is left on the parts after running through the equipment
  • Perform general machine maintenance as necessary to keep equipment in a well maintained condition
  • Document process information using set-up sheets and/or manufacturing orders
  • Monitor and make correct process changes for packing the product or changing rates
  • Provide suggestions and continuous improvements ideas to help better processes and procedures
  • Distribute baskets to and from extrusion press lines
  • Provide extrusion press support if needed
  • Keep work area clean and orderly using 5S system (standardize, sustain, sort, set in order and shine)
  • Continually support and improve the department's key measures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent degree

Experience:
  • 1+ years of manufacturing experience preferred

Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to recognize safety concerns
  • Knowledgeable in company-wide computer systems and programs
  • Ability to utilize the proper inspection equipment per designated cell area
  • A highly motivated self-starter
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to detect minor defects in the finish of the product
