Position Overview:

The Extrusion Saw Operator at Iowa Aluminum is responsible for operating and maintaining the saw equipment used in the extrusion process. This role ensures the precise cutting of extruded metal profiles according to specified lengths and profiles, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Saw Operation and Maintenance:
โ€ข Operate the saw in an effective and cost-efficient manner while upholding quality and safety standards.
โ€ข Perform the required preventive maintenance (PM) checks on the saw daily to ensure operational efficiency.

2. Quality Control and Reporting:
โ€ข Verify order lengths and die profiles against work orders before operations.
โ€ข Conduct thorough inspections of materials for any defects or imperfections post-cut.
โ€ข Identify and scrap any defective metal to maintain quality standards.
โ€ข Responsible for reporting any equipment malfunctions to maintenance staff.
โ€ข Maintain a clean and organized work area to support a safe and efficient production environment.

3. Equipment Setup and Monitoring:
โ€ข Accurately position guides and adjust saw stops according to cutting specifications. Continuously monitoring of saw cut position.
