Industrial Maintenance Technician (Cedar Rapids and Iowa City)Join a High-Performance Manufacturing Team

We’re looking for a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to support production in a clean, highly regulated plastics manufacturing environment. In this role, you’ll work hands-on with advanced molding and packaging equipment—keeping operations running smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

What You’ll Do
  • Install and maintain advanced manufacturing equipment, including:
    • Extrusion, stretch, and injection blow molding machines
    • Packaging systems and automated palletizers
  • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues across:
    • Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Complete equipment installations, layouts, and upgrades
  • Modify equipment to improve performance, reliability, and safety
  • Support facility maintenance as needed
  • Accurately document repairs, maintenance, and modifications
  • Train and support operators and fellow technicians
  • Partner with production teams to minimize downtime and drive improvements
  • Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to a team-oriented, “help wherever needed” environment
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience
  • OR
  • Associate degree (AA) in Industrial Maintenance + 1+ year hands-on experience
  • Experience in at least one of the following:
    • Mechanical systems
    • Electrical systems
    • Hydraulics
    • Pneumatics
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for industrial equipment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Commitment to safety in a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Willingness to work a 3rd shift rotating schedule (12-hour shifts)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field
  • Experience with:
    • Blow molding (extrusion, stretch, injection)
    • Plastics, bottling, or similar manufacturing environments
    • Automated packaging systems and palletizers
  • Experience training or mentoring others
