Job description

Job Title: Extrusion Machine Operator

Job Description

The Extrusion Machine Operator sets up, operates, and monitors extrusion equipment to apply insulation and color coatings to wire according to precise specifications. This role combines hands-on machine operation, basic mechanical troubleshooting, and accurate mixing and measuring of raw materials to maintain high production rates and consistent product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Set up extrusion machines and production lines according to work instructions and product specifications.
  • Operate extrusion lines at a high rate of production while maintaining established quality standards.
  • Follow instructions for the proper amount of raw material ingredients and required mix cycle times.
  • Mix compounds independently and ensure correct color and formulation for each wire size and coating requirement.
  • Read and use scales accurately to measure and mix the correct coloring and material quantities.
  • Monitor and adjust machine settings as needed to maintain optimal performance and product consistency.
  • Troubleshoot extrusion machines and perform minor repairs or adjustments to resolve production issues.
  • Use hand tools safely and effectively for setup, adjustments, and basic maintenance tasks.
  • Complete in-process quality control procedures and checks throughout the production run.
  • Log and maintain accurate production data in the database or production records.
  • Follow all company procedures, safety guidelines, and specifications during machine operation and material handling.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail when applying insulation and color coatings to ensure the correct appearance and quality for each wire size.
  • Collaborate with production team members and supervisors to meet production goals and resolve issues promptly.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Loveland, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
