Job description

Part-Time Physical Therapist - Flexible Weekday Schedule
AID Performance Physical Therapy | Ashburn, Virginia
Outpatient Orthopedics and Sports Medicine
Approximately 12-20 hours per week, with additional hours available
Pay: $45-$52 per hour, based on experience and schedule commitment
AID Performance Physical Therapy is seeking a licensed physical therapist who wants a consistent, genuinely part-time position in an independent outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine clinic.
This opportunity may be an excellent fit for an experienced clinician returning to patient care, balancing work with family or other responsibilities, or looking to add predictable outpatient hours to an existing PRN schedule.
We can structure the position around two or three recurring weekday blocks, including hours that align with the school day. Additional hours may be available but are not required.
About the Position
This position will primarily involve providing follow-up treatments to patients who have been evaluated and whose plans of care have been established by the clinic owner.
The clinician may perform evaluations when needed or mutually agreed upon, but carrying a heavy evaluation schedule is not an expectation of this position.
You will have the autonomy of a licensed physical therapist while working collaboratively with the clinic owner to provide consistent, evidence-based care.
Why Work at AID Performance PT?
  • Predictable, recurring weekday schedule
  • School-day hours available
  • No weekend requirement
  • One-hour evaluations
  • Maximum of two patients scheduled per hour
  • Primarily orthopedic and sports patients
  • Return-to-sport and performance rehabilitation
  • VALD ForceDecks and DynaMo objective testing
  • Blood Flow Restriction training
  • AI-assisted documentation support to reduce charting time
  • Direct clinical collaboration and mentorship from the clinic owner
  • Independent clinic environment without corporate productivity quotas
  • Opportunity to add hours in the future, without an expectation that the position become full-time
Schedule
We are looking for someone who can commit to a consistent weekly schedule rather than availability that changes from week to week.
Potential arrangements include:
  • Two weekdays from approximately 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
  • Three shorter school-day shifts
  • One or two longer weekday blocks
  • Another consistent schedule that works for both the clinician and the clinic
Our initial target is approximately 12-20 hours per week. Candidates interested in as many as 25 hours may also be considered. Afternoon or evening hours may be available but are not required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized outpatient orthopedic and sports physical therapy treatments
  • Implement and progress established plans of care
  • Perform evaluations and reevaluations when needed
  • Progress patients toward functional, recreational, and return-to-sport goals
  • Use objective testing when appropriate to guide clinical decisions
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation with AI-scribe support
  • Communicate effectively with patients, referral sources, and the clinic team
  • Collaborate with the clinic owner regarding patient progress and changes in clinical status
  • Contribute to a supportive, patient-first clinical environment
Qualifications
  • Active or eligible Virginia Physical Therapist license
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Outpatient orthopedic or sports experience preferred
  • Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently within a collaborative environment
  • Dry needling experience preferred but not required
Compensation
$45-$52 per hour, based on clinical experience, recurring availability, and schedule commitment.
How to Apply
Please submit:
  1. Your résumé or LinkedIn profile
  2. A brief note describing your preferred recurring days and hours
  3. A short explanation of what you are looking for in a part-time physical therapy position

We welcome clinicians returning to outpatient practice as well as physical therapists seeking a better balance between excellent patient care and life outside the clinic.
