Job description

The Contracts Coordinator will be responsible for providing administrative support for Hachette's young readers, and adult gift and product imprints (Little, Brown Books for Young Readers (LBYR), Running Press (RP) and WorthyKids (WK), Workman Kids, UNSQ Kids, UNSQ Gift, Em and Friends, Boxer Books and Workman Adult). The individual will work closely with the team including updating and maintaining workflow and status reports, gathering forms and paperwork for payments, sending and monitoring DocuSign envelopes, setting up calls/meetings, and responding to status queries. The Coordinator will also draft, route and send out work-for-hire agreements and some amendments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
  • Route, track and send out author agreements
  • Draft, route and send out straightforward amendments (e.g., delivery extensions and e-book)
  • Draft, route and send out work-for-hire and other contributor agreements
  • Draft, route and send out a portion of subsidiary rights contracts
  • Update and maintain workflow and status reports
  • Field status queries from editors, agents and other colleagues
  • Initiate the DocuSign process including collecting and preparing forms for payment
  • Perform other duties as may reasonably be assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Excellent computer skills are required (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, databases, experience with a title management system is a plus)
  • Highly organized, good at prioritizing and adaptable
  • Attentive to detail with ability and interest in legal documents
  • Self-starter, able to take ownership of job responsibilities and manage work time efficiently
  • Good communicator and team player

This role is based in our New York office. Employees are expected to work on-site three days per week in accordance with our hybrid work model. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the office.

The compensation for this position is $55,500. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location - talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
